True happiness lies within you. Don't bother wasting energy searching for joy, peace, contentment and happiness outside of you.
Please understand that there is no happiness in getting and having, but only in giving. Hug a brother, smile at a sister and share with others what you want for yourself. It is said that happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

Cherish the love you receive above anything else. It will endure long after your material possessions and good health.

To identify with your ego or mind is to be snared in time. It is like being forced to live almost exclusively through memory and anticipation. This is how sheep and cult followers are trained. This creates an endless absorption with the past, the future and an unwillingness to honor and acknowledge the present moment and allow it to be. This addictive behavior arises because the past gives an identity and the future holds the promise of deliverance, whether it comes or not, in whatever form. Both are merely illusions.

In some circles, the mind is referred to as the reactive mind, since it acts illogically and irrationally, giving you feelings you don't understand and making you react in ways that are not you.This reactive mind is also the source of psychosomatic ills, which are imbalances caused by your mind. Your feelings of unhappiness, uncontrollable emotions and fear are no more than the 'memory' of past painful experiences being replayed by your reactive mind. Change your perception, change your life, your world then changes and so does the lives of others.
